Jack and Katie top NI baby names 2007

Jack and Katie are still the most popular baby names in Northern Ireland for the fourth year in a row.

Almost 300 boys were named Jack and more than 270 baby girls were given the name Katie this year.

James and Grace were the second most favourite baby names, with Grace topping the UK chart for girl’s favouritel name. 

James climbed from fourth most popular name in 2006 to second most popular this year in Northern Ireland, forcing Matthew out of the top two for the first time in 12 years.

This year the name, Thomas, has increased in popularity rising from rank 13 in 2006 to rank six in 2007 and is currently number 2 in the UK
