Should single mothers be forced to go to work rather than stay on benefits?
Nappy rash is most common during the hotter months. Keep your little one's botty soft and kissable with these rash-avoiding tips
Did you know 35% of babies have nappy rash at any given time? That's a helluva lot of tears and sore redness. Make sure your little one isn't added to the stinging statistics by following this advice:
Going on a day out? Six nappies should be enough to see you through. And baby wipes are essential. A full pack can be heavy so buy travel packs or take a half-used pack out with you.
Dress your baby in layers which can be removed as the weather gets hotter. A sweaty baby equals more chance of nappy rash.
Invest in a muslin square. These are handy for draping over the buggy to plug any gaps left by a sun shade - to prevent your baby getting hot and bothered and possibly leading to nappy rash. They're also useful as a cool layer between you and your baby's skin when you're holding them - skin-on-skin contact can make you both hot and sticky.
Air is great for preventing nappy rash - and a warm summers day (when we get one!!!) is the ideal opportunity to get your baby's botty out and aired in the garden - without worrying about a potential mess on your carpet.
Barrier up! The warm, moist environment of a summertime nappy can make nappy rash a nightmare to clear up. Apply a thin layer of barrier cream at every change to help prevent a rash from starting.
