Should single mothers be forced to go to work rather than stay on benefits?
A hospital struggling to afford fake breasts has come up with an unique solution - knitting them! The wooly boobs are being used to help new mums learn to breastfeed and express milk at Liverpool Women's hospital.
The model breasts health professionals usually use cost around £35 each, and the hospital needs about 50. Faced with a shortage of funds, Kate McFadden, the hospital's infant feeding co-ordinator and keen knitter came up with this solution.
The boobs are produced in a variety of skin shades, and Kate says, 'are vital to us and are a low-cost, simple teaching tool.'
