Jaundice
Also known as: Icterus
Jaundice is a condition symptomatic of liver disease, featuring yellow discoloration of the skin and whites of the eyes due to an increase in bilirubin levels in the blood. It is relatively common to varying degrees in newborns, especially premature babies, and may be treated by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays via a special lamp (bililight).
