Mums everywhere will be celebrating their partners as well as their dads on Fathers’ Day this Sunday. Whether you’re buying a Fathers’ Day card on behalf of your little one or helping to select the most fetching pair of socks, you’re bound to be thinking about the other dad in your life. Here’s what some of our member mums had to say about their partners…
jedimum said:“My darling husband is an amazing dad. He saved my life and my baby’s when I was in labour, by drawing the midwife’s attention to the meconuim in my water. He did everything round the house while I was suffering from SPD and still found time to tell me I was beautiful. He has never missed an ante-natal, immunisation or appointment, even when working 70 hour weeks. He has a great sense of humour and can always make me laugh, no matter how down I am. He says he's the luckiest man in the world, but it's we’re the lucky ones. I couldn't live without him.”
Donna Walton said:“He lives in a house of four females: me and our three daughters (even the cat is a girl). He’s totally out numbered, but he can brush hair, make fairy cakes and paint pink nail varnish like the best of them! He’s perfect and we all love him. He’s most definitely OUR SUPERDAD!”
harbison said:“There is nothing he won't do for his children - changing nappies, night feeds, early mornings etc. We share responsibility 50/50 and although he works full time and me part-time he will get home from a days work and just take over if I am tired or have had a tough day with the kids. He never complains and if I am really tired he will do my early morning shift for me with no hesitation and expect nothing in return. He cooks, cleans (when asked!) and does a mean pony tail!”
morganandtedandmarnie said:“My darling husband can’t do pony tails. He doesn't do nail varnish and he doesn't have a clue about fairy cakes! However, we "got pregnant" when we were both 18 and he stood by me. He's worked so hard to provide for us and does FAR more than he should. I see our son looking at him thinking, ‘I want to be like my dad’. I know he's a superdad when he stops what he's doing to show our son how to do it, even though he's really busy. When our oldest daughter wants to go on the biggest highest fastest ride ever, he's there loving it with her. And when our baby girl wants a drink in the middle of the night, he's there. In my opinion he’s a superdad and a half. He always always puts me and our children first. I’'m very lucky to have a husband like him, but my kids are even luckier to have a dad like him. He's more than a Superdad!”
Katherinem said:“My darling husband learnt to juggle so that he could defuse tantrums. When one of the girls throws themselves to the floor he runs in, beeps his nose and juggles. The paddy stops straight away and turns to laughter!”
