There's nothing more rewarding than seeing your baby smile as you play together but, with an endless list of jobs to do too, sometimes the washing up just needs to be done! Bouncers and rockers provide the perfect spot for your baby to take a break while you make the most of a few valuable hands-free moments. Here are what some mums have to say about a selection of bouncers, rockers and swings along with some quick and easy buying tips…
'I really like how light this bouncer is – it means I can pick it up and move it around so easily. The angle of the chair also means she's comfortable for long periods of time, so I can get on with other things. The colourful activity bar is the best feature: she enjoys hitting and grabbing the monkey toy, which is good for improving her concentration and hand-eye coordination while I have some much-needed hands free time. The vibration mode relaxes her, too. I'd really recommend this.'
'My favourite feature on this is the motorised swing. When I put Samuel in, he waits for me to turn it on. Then, when the gentle swing starts, he smiles away. The sturdy design and safety straps feel secure, while the seat is deep and the padding comfortable. I wish I'd had this when Samuel was born. We'd always push him in his bouncer until he fell asleep – this would've taken the strain off our arms! It will also convert to a toddler rocker too when he gets older.'
'This compact 2-in-1 product is brilliant, as we live in a flat where space is an issue. The non-slip feet give me peace of mind that Daisy's safe, and the depth of the seat makes her feel secure and comfortable. The bright animal shapes on the washable fabric really grab her attention, and she loves the rocking motion. This chair gives me an alternative to rocking her to sleep or relaxing her myself, as it has an instant calming effect.'
'Being in the car soothes Isla, so the whole concept of this is great – we use it every mealtime for a quiet half hour! Isla is always content in the deep seat, and the realistic vibrations and sounds definitely contribute to how quickly she settles. She coos at the car mirror, and it's also nice to have nursery rhymes we can sing to her. Although she's still very young, it's teaching her about settling herself. I'd definitely recommend this – the price is good for all the features.'
'This is excellent for feeding Isla, and for when she's asleep. The vibration really relaxes her, and the activity bar is a big hit – it's been teaching her to climb in and out of the rocker with ease. The bright and colourful fabric colours are great for boys or girls, and the design is really versatile. The fact it's suitable for toddlers means it's money well spent. I love this rocker, and know my daughter will have many fun times in it.'
