Video: Vaccinations

Taking your child to have a vaccination can be a  traumatic experience for you and your baby. This video will show the procedure and give advice on what will happen.

When to get vaccination?

As a mother, protecting your baby’s health will be your number one priority. One of the best ways to keep her free from harmful disease is to make sure she has her vaccinations, which are given from the age of two months. These offer her protection against a range of infectious illnesses that are potentially life-threatening or disabling. Diseases like diphtheria, polio and whooping cough used to be common in this country, and were a very real threat to children’s lives. But with the introduction of mass immunisation, these diseases have declined dramatically. But the only way these diseases can be kept at bay is if the vast majority of people are immunised against them.
