Babies like to read books with big pictures and bright colours. 

But, remember you need to pick books that not only baby will like, but that you will like as well. You've got to keep your baby interested, so it's no good if you read the same books over and over again so that you become bored by them. Babies will soon switch off if they know you're not interested.
