Gareth Gates and his dancer wife Suzanne Mole have had their first baby since getting married. The newborn weighed 7lb 8oz and has been named Missy.

The 24-year-old-star emerged from his London home yesterday in ripped jeans and ugg boots to go to the hospital and see his new daughter.

The singer who shot to fame after becoming a runner up in the first Pop Idol in 2002 is now starring in the West End production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

According to ITN, Gates said: "We are so excited, Missy is beautiful and we can't wait to spend time together as a family."
