Pregnant women who drink coffee and tea could be puttin their babies at higher risk of cancer.

The new research has shown that caffeine may damage the DNA of unborn children and make them vulnerable to leukaemia.

Caffeine could act as a trigger for changes in DNA which occur in young leukaemia patients.

Mums-to-be are already told not to drink more than 200mg of caffeine a day, but this new study suggests they should cut it out completely.

the research by Leicester University is backed by the World Cancer Research Fund who said there was a 'good likelihood' of finding a link between caffeine and leukaemia.
