Here is my fourth baby who is now 18 months old now and full of fun. I’ve only just quit breastfeeding as it became quite a habit that I found it hard to stop sooner, but I think I’ve finally sorted it. The way I did it was to cut down to no breast in the day, and I changed "mummums"(breast) to a bottle of warm cow’s milk and called it "yumyums". I kept persevering, and it was a little stressful for the first two nights. As he is 18 months old he would obviously create and pull my top up/or down. Last night he slept through with not breastfeed and he wasn’t desperate for a bottle either. I’ve breastfed all my babies but never before had I done so for more than six months. I was having crazy thoughts of this three year old still at my breast! It just gets silly past two years old as they don’t require it and neither do you. I’ve since found out I am pregnant again! Oh my god. My husband is looking forward to it, but I won’t be doing "mummums" for as long as I did. It was fun for the most part and knowing he was getting good from it, but there comes that time when you know it is not needed. You do miss it but I’m glad to get the rest. I only have eight months to go though until the next one comes along! I’m getting some sleep even if I have to chuck out my man with the kids for just those 10 minutes of sleep!
