I want to call my child Walter when he is born, but my Mum hates it with a passion. Am I being cruel?

it is upto you and your partner what you call your baby no one else ! you will find there is always someone who is not keen on the name you pick people grow to like it anyway xx p.s i think its a cool name

I think Walter is a cool name. But I would do because it was my father's name. If your mum doesn't like the name then that's her problem. This is your baby and it's your choice to name him what you think is best. Go for it, gal!

YES! This is your baby and you should call him any name u like with out feeling worried or pressured about what others think. Pregancy is stressful enough without having that to think about too.

Im in the same situation as u! My mum isnt too keen on the name Iv chosen for mine but it isnt really up to them is it! Have u asked her why she hates it? Is there a particular reason as to why? Or just in general she isnt fond of it?
