I am looking to buy a tens machine on behalf of my sister who is due in 2.5 weeks. She used one before and found it really helpful but apparently the hospital doesn’t have a large supply so its luck of the draw whether she'll get one this time and so she is looking to buy. Trouble is, the only ones I've found are very expensive, I know you can hire them but think she'd prefer to have her own. Can anyone recommend a place to purchase one?

you say you have only seen really expensive ones - well I know the decent ones are expensive. I would suggest hiring one, you tell them when you want it (couple of weeks before due date) they send it through the post, with disposable tens pads, and you keep it until after the birth and then post it back - I had one with my first, and the service was fantastic. I looked in the back of a pregnancy magazine at the small adverts, there are quite a few. But if you are intent on buying one, then probably mothercare or blooming marvellous or jojo maman bebe has them.
