My three-year-old daughter is fully potty trained when it comes to weeing but she will not go on the toilet for a poo, she is not dry at night so she holds it in until night time when I put a nappy on her and then she poos in her nappy. I have sat her on the toilet for 2-3 hours, I read to her but she keeps holding it. When she releases it she is fine but I cant keep making her sit for hours at a time, I would really appreciate any ideas or answers to this question.

Hi, i work in a daycare setting in the pre-school room, this is really common! Honestly i would not worry and make a big issue of it as she will only become more anxuious. All i can suggest is to try to positively encourage going to the toilet. There is also a really good book which we use called 'Everybody Poo's' which has help alot of the children over the past years!! I hope this helps
