I was sterilised 5 years ago and I regreted it straight away. I was not in the right frame of mind to be making decisions like that. I have been to my GP but they won't reverse my sterilisation on the NHS so I have to go private. There is also the option of IVF treatment. I was wondering if anyone has had a sterilisation reversal or gone down the IVF route? Which would you say would be the better option both financialy and health wise? And what is the rate of success in both?

Hi well I had my reversal last wednesday, all went well, not to painfull had a morphine pump, scar about 6 inches, stitches out tuesday, and then wait and see !!!

Hiya, well im having the op next wed the 7th july, scary stuff lol i was sterilised 7b yrs ago with the clips, i have 4 children, but my husband to be in august lol has no children, so big op and wedding in next 7 weeks , must be mad lol, love reading the comments , feel free to keep me posted, would love to hear the ins and outs of the op, its costing £3700 and im 38 .

i had a reversal done just under a week ago.couldnt get it done on the nhs so had to go private.cost us £3056,have stitches out this week,so hopefuly can start trying as soon as im feeling abit better.

i was also sterilised 5 yrs ago and regretted it, i had mine reversed 2 weeks ago but had to go private which cost £5432 which is twice the price of ivf but reading about it on some sites the odds of getting pregnant depending on what type of sterilisation r good if u have the filshie clips then there is an 85 percent chance u will become pregnant within a year

i had my reversal last week am a little shocked at the size of the scar its about 6inches but feel fine my consultant said it all went well and althoug i was sterilized 12 years my tubes had little scaring. am a little worried as my periods that have been regular for ever have now decided to stop unsure if its due to the worry so going to give it a month or so then go to doctors. but because of this my fertility tests came back at 1.5 indicating that i am not ovulating. this has scared me but am still hopefull that i will be pregnant by the end of the year. :)
