Hi, me and my husband will be trying to conceive in a few months and I'm worried about how long it will take. With our first it took almost 4 years to conceive and I really want it to happen quicker. I think its down to my irregular periods and wondering if anyone has been prescribed something that can regulate their cycle? Do the docs have something for this problem and does it help?

hello! you could try acupuncture. i only have one ovary which has endometriosis and i didnt fancy having hormone treatment unless absolutely necessary, so i decided to give acupunture a go first and it worked for me (and it doesnt hurt!!). i've also been having treatment throughout my pregnancy and i feel great - due in two weeks and never felt better!! If you're not planning to try until a few months, you could use the time inbetween to keep a temperature chart to help see when you are ovulating (cheaper than the kits!!) and have lots and lots of fun trying in the meantime!!! ;) The only thing i would say though is make sure you see someone qualified and registered and it would be better if they had experience with fertility issues and pregnancy. good luck! :) xxx

I suggest just to have fun and not think about making a baby. It took 5 months for me to get pregnant with my first but when we tried with our second as we wanted them close together i didn't go back on the pill after having my first and i fell pregnant 10 weeks after giving birth!!! Just have fun with it and don't lrt it be all about having a baby... Good luck

I dont know if the doctor can regulate your periods, you might want to go see what they recommend. My advice would be to have sex every other day for 2weeks 7 days into your cycle, that way you have the best chance of catching when you ovulate. Good luck. x
