Q) My little girl is 19 months old and I’m worried because she walks with her toes pointing inwards, which means that she seems to fall over more than other toddlers. Is this normal?A) Lots of toddlers walk with their toes pointing inwards or outwards but in the majority of cases this corrects itself as they become more confident in their walking and steadier on their feet. At your daughter’s age this is not something you need to be concerned about. However, if she continues to walk this way as she gets older, or you notice that her in-toeing is becoming more pronounced or is only occurring in one foot, speak to your health visitor in case there is a developmental problem that needs to be investigated. Your daughter is likely to have a developmental assessment at two years so do raise this issue if you’re still concerned.
